Limited companies and LLP’s have to file an annual return each year, this a basic ‘snapshot’ of the information on the company, such as the directors, shareholders, registered office location etc. The filing fee is £15 for online submission and £30 for paper forms. Failure to file the annual return does not incur a penalty but will lead to the company being struck from the register and all assets (including the bank account) becoming the property of the Crown. The fees to restore the company to the register are quite high and can take several months to complete a restoration. For more information see our information on Administrative Restoration.
